Advisory Committee on Translations in Georgia
The purpose of the committee is to consult Book Platform project in Georgia on the content of the capacity-building and policy activities related to the topic of translations. The committee is expected to adjust the planned project
activities to local needs, advise on choice of experts and researchers as well as to assist in ensuring visibility of its results in the country.

BARBARA WATTENDORF | |

Barbara Wattendorf earned an M.A. from Giessen University (Germany) in East European Studies and Russian Literature. Since 2008 she is responsible for
reading promotion, translation support and literary exchange at Goethe-Institut Georgia, operating in the South Caucasus. Prior to joining the Goethe-Institut, Barbara worked from 2001 to
2006 as head of the DAAD Information Centre in Georgia, a large German funding organization supporting the international exchange of students and scholars. Barbara also taught German
language and contemporary literature at Ivane Javakhishvili State University.

GAGA LOMIDZE | |

Gaga Lomidze graduated from the Tbilisi State University (1995). He completed his PhD at the Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature. Currently
works at the Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature as a head of the Department of Literary Studies and Comparative Literature. At the same time he teaches Theory of Literature at
the Tbilisi State University. He is the president of Georgian Comparative Literature Association (GCLA) and a member of International Comparative Literature Association (ICLA). He is one of
the founders of International Summer School of Translation. Being the author of numerous critical articles and scientific researches as well as books (six translated and one in
collaboration), he works as a board member of the Siesta publishing house.

TAMARA KVIZINADZE | |

Tamara Kvizinadze got her diploma from Tbilisi State University (TSU) with a major in philology (specialized in translation and literary relations).
Besides, she took Scandinavian Studies as a minor program. After completing MA, she was invited at the University of Oslo, where she took a ground courses in Norwegian language, literature
and culture. Currently, Tamara is teaching Norwegian language and literature at the Center of Scandinavian Studies at Tbilisi State University. As a founder and head of the non-governmental
organization Center for Cultural Relations between Norway and Georgia, she is involved in different cultural projects, mostly focusing on
translation and literary relations. She is a member of Association of Georgian Translators and Interpreters. She cooperates with both Georgian and
Norwegian publishers and have translated a good number of Norwegian authors into Georgian.
