Исследование книгоиздания как ключевой культурной промышленности: Грузия

Results of a survey on book publishing and distribution, 2012-2013
The study on "Publishing and Bookselling in Georgia" was commissioned in late 2012 by the Georgian Publishers and Booksellers Association (GPBA) to local consultants Mr. Giorgi Sabanadze and Ms. Tamara Janashia, who worked under the general guidance of the Book Platform senior expert Rüdiger Wischenbart.

The study is based on a survey of thirty-four publishing companies, three distributors and twelve bookstores which agreed to complete a detailed questionnaire on all aspects of the book business in Georgia, which makes it the first-ever attempt to analyze the industry based on direct information provided by stakeholders and on all statistical data that can be found from a wide array of sources.

The publication consists of the following chapters:
  • Publishing and Bookselling in Georgia: High Stakes and Professional Ambitions in a Changing Book Business (By Rüdiger Wischenbart)
  • Georgia. General Information on the State of the Economy, Education, Book Publishing, Licensing, the Library System and State Programs (By Tamara Janashia)
  • Survey Methodology, Scope and Limitations (By Tamara Janashia and Giorgi Sabanadze)
  • Book Publishers: Survey Results (By Tamara Janashia and Giorgi Sabanadze)
  • Book Distribution and Selling: Survey Results (By Tamara Janashia and Giorgi Sabanadze)
