training TbilisiThe three-day interactive workshop in Tbilisi is the first training session within the Book Platform project.

It triggers the participants to start strategic planning for their organizations and to apply creative approach to fundraising, and to link the two processes (strategic planning and fundraising) as essentially interconnected.

The training session brings together 21 participants from NGOs from Georgia, Armenia and Ukraine. It is moderated by Sue Kay (UK) − a freelance cultural sector consultant, researcher and trainer.

By the end of the three-day seminar, the participants will be able to:

  • advocate for and begin a strategic planning process for their organization;
  • apply a strategic and creative approach to their fundraising!
Day one consists of a morning and afternoon training sessions, and an evening informal interactive session. The training combines introduction to the seminar and the programme as a whole (The Big Hello), and a practical (and critical) guide to strategic planning: why plan; introduction to the planning cycle and its key stages; where are you now (SWOT, market analysis and USP, stakeholder analysis) followed by reflection time (Pragmatic Dreaming).

The Pragmatic dreaming session continues during day two, followed by the panel Fundraising for projects − a strategic and creative approach: working for success in your grant application; creative ways of raising funds for the work you want to do.

Day three pays special attention on essential techniques for successful project implementation – We've got there! − introduction to project management, reporting, needs assessment and partnerships with stakeholders.
